Optimize Your Claude Pro Subscription

Use Sonnet and Haiku strategically to get the most out of your $20/month Claude Pro plan.

With a Claude Pro subscription at $20/month, you get access to both Claude Sonnet and Claude Haiku. The trick is knowing when to use each.

Claude Sonnet is the best model for tasks that require context and creativity:

  • Setting up a campaign with the right strategy
  • Qualifying a lead based on their profile and posts
  • Writing an ice-breaker that references something specific
  • Managing a multi-step conversion sequence (from qualification to meeting booked)

Sonnet produces usable first drafts about 80% of the time for LinkedIn content.

How to set your default model

In OpenClaw, go to Agent → Default model and select claude-sonnet-4-6.

Switching models on the fly

In the chat, use the model dropdown to change the model for the current conversation. Or use slash commands:

  • /model sonnet — switch to Sonnet
  • /model haiku — switch to Haiku
  • /model list — see available models
  • /model status — check current model

The credit problem

Claude Pro has weekly credit limits. If you run Sonnet for everything — lead gen, enrichment, template messages — you'll burn through credits by mid-week.

Running out of credits?

When you hit the weekly limit, Claude stops responding until the next reset. Plan your model usage to avoid this.

Pro tip: dual-instance strategy

The smartest approach is to run two OpenClaw instances on the same VPS, connected to the same BeReach API key (same LinkedIn account):

  • Instance 1 (Haiku) — runs cron jobs for bulk tasks: enrichment, template DMs, mass visits, post scraping
  • Instance 2 (Sonnet) — handles smart tasks: campaign setup, lead qualification, personalized outreach, conversation management

This way you never have to think about switching models. Each instance is optimized for its role.

Same BeReach key, same LinkedIn

Both instances share the same BeReach API key, so they act on the same LinkedIn account. BeReach handles rate limiting across both.
